Amazing Adornments Jewelry Finds De Lizza and Elster

Amazing Adornments
Find of the Week

DeLizza & Elster
[makers of Juliana]

Layered Rhinestone Brooch and Earring Set

Here is a perfect example of unsigned jewelry that could be overlooked for lack of a signature. This dazzling vintage set has it all. A large and colorful watermelon tourmaline rhinestone at the center of a bevy of rhinestones in shades of purple. The rhinestones are set in a layered fashion like only
D&E could!

Vintage DeLizza and Elster Layered Rhinestone Demi Parure

As with all D&E jewelry, you need to look at
the construction, especially the backings to find your clues as to origin.

All of the D&E jewelry we sell at Amazing Adornments has been confirmed by either the Discovering Juliana Jewelry Group, Frank De-Lizza or the Jewel Collect Jewelry Group

Amazing Adornments More Finds of the Week

Nettie Rosenstein and Les Bernard

Clear Rhinestone Brooches/Pins

These vintage pins might have clear rhinestones, however they are anything but plain!

First up is this majestic soaring sterling and rhinestone jelly belly bird pin. What can I say,
Nettie Rosenstein does it again! I can certainly see this lovely vintage brooch being worn on a hat or one of her couture suits. This pin dates to the 1940s.

Les Bernard is another costume jewelry company that is still under rated and under priced on today's market. Founded in 1963 by Bernard Shapiro and Lester Joy, this company is known for their quality pieces and innovation. This vintage brooch shows both qualities. The petals can me moved to several positions including open as shown, partially closed or closed all the way.

Amazing Adornments Find of the Week

Sandor Sterling

1940s Retro Rhinestone Floral Brooch

1938- 1972 Founded by Sandor Goldberger

I think the 1940s pieces are amongst some of my very favorites. I especially like the sterling pieces. They are usually so well designed and constructed.

This company produced some of the finest costume jewelry in my opinion. From enamel flowers with and without rhinestones to sterling pieces such as this lovely flower and ribbon brooch. Note the
two shades of blue rhinestones and the way the ribbon at the top appears much like a real ribbon would.

On the subject of sterling silver. When we find vintage pieces with patina we leave them as is. You never can tell if the customer will want the piece polished. Sometimes I have personally found what
would have been a gorgeous piece of sterling jewelry that has been over polished. Too bright and shiny. These pieces no longer look vintage. These pieces are old and in my opinion should look that way!

Reinad

Oriental Princess Fur Clip ~ Brunialti Book Piece

1920s- 1950s? Reinad Novelty Company ~ New York, NY

This is another company with an interesting history. It seems that during the 1940s they produced a line of costume jewelry with the mark "Chanel Novelty Company". The jewelry was marked Chanel in script. Well, they were not associated with Coco Chanel and as you might expect, she
or her company did not like the use of the name "Chanel Novelty Company."

Jewelry marked "Chanel" in script was only made during 1941. It is very rare.

This company also produced jewelry for other companies. Perhaps that is why there is a near identical "Oriental Princess" pin/clip signed Hattie Carnegie on the market.
