Amazing Adornments Find of the Week
Coro Sterling "Heavenly Swallows" Duette
To begin the new year, we found this wonderful Adolph Katz for Coro, Sterling "Heavenly Swallows" duette. This piece has two soaring birds. We have seen a version with three birds in one of the Brunialti books and in a 1945 Coro Craft advertisement. They were called Triquettes. Clear
rhinestones also decorate this lovely piece and the birds have red rhinestone eyes. As you may know, Coro introduced the duette in the mid 1930s. The name duette is patented. When Trifari introduced their separable brooch they called theirs a clip-mate. This piece when separated can be worn as two scatter fur/dress clips or you could wear just one. When attached to the frame as shown it is worn as a pin. ca. 1944- 1945.
