There is a misconception about the hallmark. Mizpah is not a company. Mizpah has many meanings, depending on whom you ask. It can have religious connotations, it can make reference to a geographical location or as these pins were undoubtedly meant, it can be a sort of sweetheart pin. They are meant to signify a bond between people that are separated.
The first is a wishbone decorated with an enamel clover. The second is a horseshoe, thistle and rhinestone pin in silver- tone metal.
