R. Mandle Balalaika Musical Instrument Pin
This pin is one in a series of musical string instrument pins by the son of the famous Uri Mandle, Robert Mandle. The series consisted of mostly mandolins. Each was exquisitely detailed to look like a miniature of the real thing. This pin even has strings! The triangle body is mother of pearl with a clear rhinestone surround.
The Balalaika is a plucked string instrument of Russian origin. Most have three strings although some that are very old have been found with two and up to six strings.
