The picture was taken by yours truly. I took the photo with a Nikon D70 digital SLR and the AF-S Nikkor DX lens. It takes such great pictures of costume jewelry! I use this camera for all the images on the website now. I used to use a small Sony digital, but I found it could not capture our vintage costume jewelry in all of it’s splendor..
The set in question shown here is a tagged D&E Juliana 5 link bracelet and matching clip on earrings. I have found that D&E costume jewelry is not the easiest to photograph. There is so much sparkle. Sometimes the sparkle produces glare. At other times, the colors are so vibrant and the mix of colors so dramatic that you get one stone to look good and wash out the others! The Nikon along with an Easy Cube tabletop photo system with three light helps a ton. It doesn’t hurt to know a little about photography.
