Two Takes on Bold Earrings ~Yves Saint Laurent and Tone Vigeland
Have you seen the jewelry counters at the stores, catalogs and fashion magazines lately? The term bold is everywhere. It seems extreme jewelry is here. Another new trend is the sleek look. We recently found these two pair of earrings, the first being bold in scale and the second sleek and bold for another reason.
The rhinestone earrings are hallmarked Yves Saint Laurent and they are not for the faint of heart. Measuring a whopping 1 3/4" long and 1 1/2" wide they certainly will not be missed on your ears and don't they have the perfect colors for the holiday season?

This second pair of earrings are the famous "Sling" earrings signed and produced by the artist Tone Vigeland for PLUS, Norway. They are sterling silver and as you can see they are modernist in design. They date to the late 1950s and created a sensation at the time. They have no findings whatsoever. They cup the ear instead. The design is bold, sleek and they were innovative.
