PAUL LOBEL American Modernist Sterling Cufflinks | Amazing Adornments Find of the Week

Amazing Adornments Find of the Week

American Modernist Paul Lobel Sterling Cufflinks

Paul Lobel was a multi- media artist but must be noted as one of the pioneers of the American Studio/Modernist jewelers. This movement prevailed mostly, but not limited to New York during the
mid- twentieth century. These folks were not just jewelry manufactures, they were artists! Sometimes and certainly more than we will ever know, there are those mavericks that buck the trend. It is not a new phenomenon and seems to happen each time the pendulum swings to far in one direction. It is not limited to jewelry, however that is what we are here to talk about so we will stay on topic.

These cufflinks give a flavor of Lobel's exceptional eye. They are simple, yet impeccably stylish and bold. Note the fact that the high pint of the slopes at the center face opposite directions
in the image below. On the cuff of your favorite French cuff, they will face outward. If you have ever wondered what makes the "Great" great, it is all in the details!
